Bleeding Right

Bleeding Right

Bleeding right
does not mean bleeding white
nor bleeding red
(rhymes with head)
but bleeding blue
bleeding all the sovereign gold
of this animal you call 'you'

Bleeding right
does not mean putting up a fight
nor cutting to the chase
(which rhymes with race)
but bleeding blue
bleeding like a river, clear,
that's seen through

Bleeding right
does not mean bleeding bright
with shame
(that's an old scar's game)
but bleeding blue
prepared to feel and thus to heal
knowing bleeding is what humans do.
